JIU JITSU FOR EVERY STUDENT

Brazilian jiu jitsu develops focus, discipline, body awareness, and confidence — skills that translate far beyond the mat. We believe every student deserves access to this experience, which is why we work directly with regional centers to sponsor training for students with autism at no out-of-pocket cost to families.

WHY JIU JITSU?

BODY AWARENESS

Grappling builds proprioception and spatial awareness through structured physical contact.

CONFIDENCE

Each technique mastered is a concrete, visible milestone — a powerful confidence builder for students of all abilities.

FOCUS & REGULATION

Technique-based training demands present-moment attention and helps students practice emotional self-regulation.

ROUTINE & STRUCTURE

Class format is predictable and sequential — a structure many autistic students find deeply comfortable.

SOCIAL SKILLS

Partner drills create a consistent, low-pressure framework for turn-taking, communication, and trust.

PHYSICAL FITNESS

Full-body movement builds strength, coordination, and cardiovascular health in an engaging, goal-oriented way.

We are approved vendors with the East LA Regional Center (ELARC) and the Frank D. Lanterman Regional Center. Eligible participants can have their training fully covered through their regional center funding — families pay nothing out of pocket.

With another regional center? Even if your regional center is not on this list, you may still be able to receive reimbursement for training. Policies vary by center, so we recommend checking with your service coordinator to find out what's possible with your current funding.
